Non-Contact, Ultrasonic Loop Controller (Telesensor with stand)
Progressive Machine Company's Telesensor utilizes sonar signals to maintain a free loop between the prime mover and a payoff or winding unit, thus eliminating a major cause of product damage.
The Telesensor provides an ultra-light tension solution for monitoring and controlling loop depth for especially delicate materials which can tolerate minimal, if any contact pressure. The sensor transmits an ultrasonic pulse to a low mass roller or the material itself at the base of the loop and senses the return signal. It then, through an extremely accurate digital signal process, provides linear, proportional control to the motor drive of the winding / payoff unit. As, the loop depth varies, the spindle rpm reacts to maintain the loop within specified limits.
